Rosie Catherwood, Chief Executive

Rosie founded Tamarind in 2009 and is also Tamarind’s senior client advisor and content director. She is one of the UK’s leading specialists in creating effective video content for investor and business audiences. Rosie advises on all aspects of using video online for external and internal communications and directs and produces many of Tamarind’s productions.

Prior to setting up Tamarind, Rosie was a Director of Cantos Communications from 2001 to 2009, a leading UK provider of video services online. Her clients included Aga Rangemaster; Amec, BBA Aviation, Cadbury, Candover, D1 Oils, First Rand, Game Group, Gold Fields, HMV, HSBC, J Sainsbury, Lafarge, L’Oreal/BodyShop, Micro Focus, National Grid, Northgate Information Solutions, PartyGaming, Pearson, Prudential, SIG, Unilever and United Utilities.

Rosie also specialises in advising on special situations and M&A deals. Clients and projects in this field included rights issues for HSBC (2009), Rhodia (2005), Prudential (2004) and Lafarge (2003); IPOs of Sartorius/Stedim Biotech, Ipsen, PartyGaming and Rosneft and M&A for Pfizer/Wyeth, D1Oils/BP, UCB/Schwarz Pharma, Northgate IS acquisitions of Arinso, Sx3 and Rebus HR, Game Group/Gamestation, National Grid/KeySpan, Siemens/UGS, Linde/BOC, L’Oreal/Body Shop, Schering/Bayer, NSG/Pilkington, BASF/Englehard, Aviva/RAC, Gold Fields/Harmony, and Santander/Abbey.

Before Cantos, Rosie was a Director of Citigate Dewe Rogerson for 11 years and the founder and Managing Director of CDR India for five years, advising governments and companies on their privatisation, M&A, and ongoing financial communications strategies and investor relations programmes from India, into India and within India.

Prior to that she ran a graphic design business, flirted with advertising and was a researcher and producer for BBC Radio 4.

Rosie has an MA (Hons) from St. Hugh’s College, Oxford. When she gets time she plays tennis and enjoys yoga, The Times Crossword, gardening, cooking, opera and walking the dogs.
